Bush Selected as Big Ten Setter of the Week

Bush collected her fourth career Big Ten weekly honor following a pair of sweeps in Las Vegas.

WEST LAFAYETTE, Ind. – Following a pair of sweeps at UNLV (receiving AVCA votes) and No. 25 Washington State, the Big Ten selected Hayley Bush as Setter of the Week.

Not only is it the fourth honor of Bush's career (last: 3/29/21), she is the first Boilermaker to receive the league's weekly honor this season.

Bush, who was also named the Rebel Challenge MVP on top of All-Tournament Team honors, led No. 8 Purdue with 76 assists on the weekend. Sound in both the front and back row, Bush was one dig shy of a double-double at UNLV, recording 31 assists, nine digs, three kills (.375 hitting %), one solo block and a block assist in the three-setter. Moreover, the Union, Kentucky, native recorded the most assists by a Big Ten player in a three-set match since November 2019 with her 45 vs. No. 25 Washington State.

As playmaker, Bush has guided Purdue to four straight matches with a .300 hitting % or better, a feat that has not been accomplished since 2017.  

Bush was joined by Penn State's Jonni Parker (Player of the Week), Nebraska's Kayla Caffey (Defensive), Maryland's Milan Gomillion (Co-Freshman) and Ohio State's Arica Davis (Co-Freshman).
