WEST LAFAYETTE, Ind. – The Purdue men's tennis team will play in at least seven events this fall, as head coach Pawel Gajdzik announced his squad's competition schedule.
Gajdzik has a powerful young roster with rising lineup regulars Tomasz Dudek, Sebastian Welch and Michal Wozniak, as well as Milledge Cossu and Andre Suzanne, in addition to a quartet of impressive freshmen of Poland international Piotr Galus and a trio of five-star recruits of Rohan Sachdev, Julen Morgan and Gabriele Brancatelli. Purdue received a major boost last week when 2020 ITA National Most Improved Senior Athell Bennett announced his return for the 2021-22 season.
The Boilermakers will open the 2021 fall season at the Schwartz Tennis Center on Sept. 17-19 for the Purdue Fall Invite. The squad will the split for two tournaments the following weekend at the ITA Ohio Valley Regional at Vanderbilt on Sept. 23-27, aiming for a bid to ITA Fall Nationals in San Diego, from Nov. 4-7. The remainder of the team will head to Notre Dame Invite on Sept. 24-26.
A select few student-athletes will travel to the ITA All-American Championships in Tulsa, Okla., from Oct. 2-10, ahead of the penultimate fall tournament at the Louisville Invite on Oct. 15-17. The fall slate wraps up with the Big Ten Singles Championships from Nov. 5-7 with the location to be announced later.
