Gadjzik Adds Piotr Galus from Poland

Purdue men's tennis coach Pawel Gajdzik added another commitment to an already stacked 2021 recruiting class, as Polish international Piotr Galus made his commitment to join the Boilermakers this fall.

WEST LAFAYETTE, Ind. – Purdue men's tennis coach Pawel Gajdzik added another commitment to an already stacked 2021 recruiting class, as Polish international Piotr Galus made his commitment to join the Boilermakers this fall.

The recruiting class now stands at four, following commitments of Tennis Recruiting Network five-stars in Gabriele Brancatelli, Rohan Sachdev and Julen Morgan.

"Piotr is another incredible addition to our program," Gajdzik said. "A dynamic and powerful player, Piotr has extensive experience playing against some of the top junior tennis players in the world. We look forward to seeing him make an impact when he arrives on campus."

Galus will arrive in the United States after an extensive career on the junior circuit and some time spent in professional tournaments. The Szczecin, Poland, native climbed as high as No. 1302 in the World ITA Junior rankings behind a 23-20 singles record, per ITF, and two semifinal appearances.

Galus' time on the pro circuit saw him reach a trio of doubles semifinals, as well as the finale of the Wroclaw World Cup 2019 in Poland. He jumped up to No. 649 in the ITF World Doubles Rankings and No. 1120 in ATP doubles. His singles career saw him notch 20 wins and reach No. 1517 in the world by the ITF
