WEST LAFAYETTE, Ind. -
The Purdue men's basketball team looks to bounce back from its first loss of the season Wednesday at Marquette as part of the annual Gavitt Games between the Big Ten and Big East. Tip will be at 9:15 p.m. ET, and will be televised by FS1 and available on the FOX Sports App. Lisa Byington and Stephen Bardo will handle the call courtside. On the radio dial, the game will be broadcast on the Purdue Radio Network and online at TuneIn.com, with Larry Clisby and Rob Blackman handling the duties, beginning with the Purdue Basketball Pregame Show at 8 p.m. ET. Live stats will be provided on GoMarquette.com, and Twitter updates available at @BoilerBall.

THE MAIN TALKING POINTS
1) This will be Purdue's third appearance in the Gavitt Games, owning a 1-1 record in the event. Purdue lost to defending National Champion Villanova at home in Nov. 2016 (79-76) and defeated Marquette in Milwaukee a year later (86-71).
2) Purdue is looking to avoid its first 1-2 start since the 2012-13 season (losses to Bucknell in the opener and to Villanova in New York City).
3) Purdue is 9-0 all-time against Marquette, the most wins without a loss against a single opponent. The nine-game winning streak is the fourth-longest active winning streak against a single opponent.
4) Purdue's last win in a non-conference road game came on Nov. 14, 2017, at Marquette (86-71). It has only played one non-conference road game since that victory (lost 73-72 to Florida State on Nov. 28, 2018).
5) Purdue has won four straight games against Big East Conference foes dating to a Nov. 14, 2016, loss to Villanova. The Boilermakers have defeated Butler twice (including the 2018 NCAA Tournament), Villanova (2019 NCAA Tournament) and Marquette.
6) Texas is ranked No. 23 in KenPom, while Marquette is ranked No. 15. Through Wednesday night's action, Purdue and Ohio State (Cincinnati, Villanova) will be the only teams in America to have played two top-25 opponents in the KenPom rankings.
7) The Boilermakers return two starters (Matt Haarms and Nojel Eastern) from last year's team that posted a 26-10 record and reached the Elite Eight for the first time since 2000.
8) With its No. 23 preseason national ranking, Purdue has been ranked in five straight AP preseason Top 25 polls, the longest streak in school history.

THE SERIES
• Purdue and Marquette will meet for the second time in the Gavitt Games, coming on consecutive appearances in Milwaukee for the Boilermakers. Marquette did play at Indiana a year ago.
• The Boilermakers own a 9-0 series advantage against Marquette, including an 86-71 victory in the 2017 event.
• Nojel Eastern (4 mins.) and Matt Haarms (7 pts, 3 rebs, 2 blks) appeared for Purdue in the 2017 meeting. The Boilermakers shot 57.1 percent from the field in the victory.
