WEST LAFAYETTE, Ind. -- Purdue baseball scored multiple runs in five innings and cooled off a hot Wabash Valley College lineup over the final four frames to win 12-10 in the finale of the fall ball exhibition slate at Alexander Field.

Zac Fascia got the scoring started in the first inning with an RBI single to plate Skyler Hunter. The Boilermakers then benefited from some wildness from the Warriors, as Kyle LaPlante and Cole McKenzie scored on wild pitches to give Purdue an early 3-0 lead.

Wabash Valley quickly tied it up in the top of the second, but the Boilermakers responded with two runs in the fifth, three in the sixth and two in the seventh to take a 10-8 lead. The Warriors tied it again in the top of the eighth inning at 10-10, but Tanner Haston provided a go-ahead RBI single in the ninth. Milo Beam added an RBI single of his own that provided the final tally of the 12-inning game.

Kyle Wade pitched two shutout innings early in the game when Wabash Valley was heating up. Matt Moore, Bo Hofstra, Dalton Parker and Conner Tomasic pitched the last four innings of the game and each put up a zero in their respective frames. Hofstra and Tomasic both struck out a pair.

Johnny Sage hit a go-ahead solo home run to right field in the fifth inning, giving the Boilermakers a 4-3 lead. He finished with two hits and three RBI. Fascia added an RBI double to his total to finish with two hits and two RBI.
