LOUISVILLE, Ky. – The Boilermakers accumulated nine first-place finishes between the Louisville Invite and the Illinois Twilight, headed by Jalil Brewer's Big Ten-leading shot put throw and Blanchard Montgomery IV's third-fastest 400-meter hurdles time in program history.
Overall, the Boilermakers swept multiple events, including the men's and women's 100-, 200- and the 4x100-meter relay. Additionally, Purdue took two of the top three spots in the women's 100, women's 400m and men's 200-meter.
Brewer, indoor All-American in the shot put, had an impressive day in the outdoor event, registering the best throw in the Big Ten this season. With a distance of 63-01.25/19.23m, the Boilermaker took the victory by just under a meter.
Montgomery recorded the fastest 400-meter hurdles time at the meet, clocking in at 51.07 seconds. The time placed him third in Purdue history, marking the freshman as the quickest hurdler in the event since 2016.
Last week, Camille Christopher recorded a personal-best in the 100m dash to enter the Purdue performance list, checking in at No. 9. This week in the 100-meter dash finals, the freshman bested her mark to rise to T-No. 6 in Purdue history after winning the event in 11.59 seconds.
Waseem Williams followed Christopher with a victory in the men's 100-meter dash. The Purdue event record-holder notched a season-best time of 10.20 seconds. Freshman Justin Becker also qualified for the finals and ran his way to a fourth-place finish and a personal-best time of 10.58 seconds.
Williams also placed first after in a neck-in-neck 200-meter dash finish with fellow teammate Samson Colebrooke. The Kingston, Jamaica, native took the victory by seven one-hundredths of a second, clocking in at 20.68 while Colebrook was timed at 20.75 seconds.
Alexis Zatta earned her first Boilermaker victory. Zatta topped off at 5-08.75/1.75-meters in the high jump, beating her previous best of 1.74-meters.
Junior Myia Dorsey had one of her strongest performances of the season after pulling in a pair of top 2 finishes. Dorsey secured a win in the 400-meter dash with a time of 55.36, while Samara Miller was hot on her heels with a second-place time of 55.49. Meanwhile with a personal-best in the 200-meters, Dorsey shaved off 0.02 seconds for a time of 24.10 and second-place, behind Christopher's 23.98 time.
Meanwhile, at the Illinois Twilight, Tyler Bowling collected a victory in the 5,000-meter run in the first time he has run the event as a Boilermaker. Beating his seed time by over 23 seconds, Bowling produced the first win of his collegiate career with a time of 14:28.65. The freshman was followed by Jacob Hanawalt in 11th-place (14:50.51).
Taylor Mortensen (3,000-meter steeplechase) and Megan Slamkowski (5,000-meter run) both placed four after shaving a combined 26 seconds off their seed time.

Distance runners will compete at the Cardinal Classic on April 19-20. Meanwhile, the remaining team will have a bye-week before heading to the Drake Relays on April 25-27.
