WEST LAFAYETTE, Ind. - The Purdue women's golf team makes its second straight trip to the Chicagoland area Monday, set to play in the inaugural Illini Women's Invitational. The Fighting Illini host the 15-team field at the prestigious Medinah Country Club, which includes seven teams either ranked or receiving votes in the latest polls.
Both Monday and Tuesday are scheduled to have a shotgun start as the No. 2 Course at Medinah will play 6,159-yard, par-72 for the 54-hole event.
The Boilermakers will field the same lineup as the opening tournament, led by Senior Ida Ayu Indira Melati Putri and junior Micaela Farah. Sophomore Lauren Guiao. Rookies Danielle du Toit and RuQing Guan will make their second straight start.
The field features a pair of ranked squads in Kent State and the host Illini, and five others receiving votes from the WGCA.

Ida Ayu Indira Melati Putri, Junior: After a rough start, Putri rebounded to play two-over par on the final 36 holes, including a final-round, even-par 72 … owns a team-most 20 career rounds of par or better.
Micaela Farah, Junior: Farah picked up where she left off, shooting a team-best two-over par, 218 at the Windy City Collegiate Classic and tying for 13th place … tied her career-low 18-hole mark in the second round at Windy City, posting a three-under 69.
Lauren Guiao, Sophomore: Counted a pair of team scores in the season opener … posted the Boilermakers' third-best average on par 4's at 4.22.
Danielle du Toit, Freshman: Shot a final-round, five-under 67 to close the Windy City Collegiate … tied the 12th-best 18-hole score in program history and the third-best all-time mark by a Purdue freshman … made a team-most 10 birdies at Windy City … the Boilermakers' first South African player since Paula Reto graduated in 2013.
RuQing Guan, Freshman: Counted a team score in all three rounds of her first career tournament … made the second-most pars by a Purdue player in the opener, dropping 34 … the first-ever Chinese player to suit up for the Boilermakers.
THE COURSE
Medinah Country Club is one of the most prominent private country clubs in the country located just 25 miles west of the city, in the Chicago suburbs. Founded in the 1920s by a group of Shriners, Medinah Country Club boasts three world class golf courses, all originally designed by famed golf course architect Tom Bendelow.
The famous course No. 3 has hosted numerous major championships and prestigious international golf events. Past events include the Ryder Cup (2012), three U.S. Opens (1949, 1975, and 1990), two PGA Championships (1999, 2006), and three Western Opens (1946, 1962 and 1966).
The 2019 BMW Championship will be held next year on the famed Course No. 3.
