WEST LAFAYETTE, Ind. – The red-hot Purdue men's golf team looks to end its fall season on a high note this weekend as it travels to paradise for the Warrior Makai Invitational.

The three-day, 54-hole tournament will be contested Sunday through Tuesday at the Makai Club in Princeville, Hawai'i.

Purdue will bring six players (five counting and one individual) to the event, in hopes of turning around its fall season after a tough start. Seniors Timmy Hildebrand and Jarle Volden and sophomores Cole Bradley, Jason Hong and Joe Weiler will serve as the counting team. Freshman Andrew Lewis will compete as an individual.

The mammoth field of 20 teams features seven squads ranked in the top 100, including No. 11-ranked Pepperdine and No. 15-ranked Louisville. Purdue is ranked No. 44 in the latest Golfstat rankings, jumping 33 spots over the last two tournaments, after finishing third at the Intercollegiate at the Grove and winning the Chatham Hills Invitational two weeks ago.

The tournament is a big one in terms of wins and losses, where Purdue owns a 33-28-2 record. Teams need a minimum .500 record to qualify for the NCAA Regional competition in May.
