Purdue Football Future Schedules
WEST LAFAYETTE, Ind. – Purdue and Syracuse have agreed to play a home-and-home series in football. The Boilermakers will travel to Syracuse on Sept. 17, 2022, to play inside the Carrier Dome, and the Orange will visit Ross-Ade Stadium on Sept. 16, 2023.
Purdue and Syracuse have met once before on the gridiron, with the Boilermakers winning 51-0 on Sept. 5, 2004, at Ross-Ade.
Purdue's trip to Syracuse will be the Boilermakers' first visit to the Empire State since Nov. 1, 1941, a 17-0 loss to Fordham at the Polo Grounds in New York City. Purdue is 3-4-1 all-time in the state of New York, with a 2-4-1 record against Fordham on the road or at neutral sites and a 34-9 victory over New York University at Yankee Stadium on Oct. 29, 1932.
Current Syracuse head coach Dino Babers served as an assistant at Purdue from 1991 to 1993.
The Carrier Dome, which opened on Syracuse's campus Sept. 20, 1980, seats 49,262 for football and serves as the home of the Orange basketball and lacrosse teams, as well.
The Boilermakers are 7-10-1 against Atlantic Coast Conference opponents (7-8-1 in the regular season and 0-2 in bowl games), including 6-3-1 at Ross-Ade. The last ACC school to play at Ross-Ade was Virginia Tech on Sept. 19, 2015. Purdue hosts Boston College on Sept. 22, 2018, and plays at Boston College on Sept. 26, 2020. Syracuse was a member of the Big East when it previously squared off against the Boilermakers in football.
