WEST LAFAYETTE, Ind. - The Purdue women's golf team brings the action to its home turf for the first time since 2014 and will host its first-ever tournament on the recently-redesigned Ackerman-Allen Course at the Birck Boilermaker Golf Complex. The event is the Boilermakers' final regular-season tournament, heading to TPC River's Bend on April 19 for the Big Ten Championships.
Head coach Devon Brouse last hosted an event in West Lafayette in 2014, holding an impromptu Purdue Rainy Day Shootout in 2014 with Kent State and Iowa after the final day of the Dallas Athletic Club/SMU Invitational was cancelled due to inclement weather. The Boilermakers last hosted a planned regular-season tournament in 2005, welcoming a 13-team field to Kampen Course. Purdue hosted annual events at the Birck Boilermaker Golf Complex from 1976-to-1988, again from 1990-to-1997, and then hosted the Lady Boilermaker from 2003-to-2005.
Play is scheduled to begin at 8 a.m. ET on Saturday and Sunday mornings, with groups going off No. 1 and No. 10.

The Lady Boilermaker Classic features a small field, but has a few tough squads set to play this weekend. In addition to the No. 21 Purdue squad, both Texas Tech and Augusta feature top-100 rankings and some solid tournament performances this season.

THE COURSE: Ackerman-Allen Course, Birck Boilermaker Golf Complex
The Ackerman-Allen Course at the Birck Boilermaker Golf Complex was redesigned in 2015 by renowned golf course architect Pete Dye, becoming the latest addition to the Pete Dye Trail. Ackerman- Allen - formerly the Purdue South Course and later Ackerman Hills - originally was designed by Indiana Golf Hall of Famer Bill Diddle and built in 1934. It hosted the 1961 NCAA Men's Championships at which Purdue won the team title and Jack Nicklaus was the medalist. The course was modified in 1968 by Larry Packard to accommodate the expansion of the Tower Acres residential area. It was further developed from 1996 to 1998 as part of the opening of the Birck Boilermaker Golf Complex. This weekend's action will play par-72, 6,247 yards.
AT THIS EVENT
The Boilermakers aim to start a new home tradition with the Lady Boilermaker Classic, starting with this weekend's field. Purdue has been victorious on its home turf seven times in program history, last winning a home tournament at the 1996 Boilermaker Invitational.
