SUNSET, S.C. - Senior Marta Martin and junior Ida Ayu Indira Melati Putri shot matching scores of three-under par, 69, Saturday to lead the Purdue women's golf team in the second round at the Clemson Invitational. The Boilermakers finished one-under par, 287, on the day and sit in seventh place at even par, 289-287=576, with 18 holes to play at The Reserve at Lake Keowee.

Both Martin and Putri dropped four birdies and one bogey in their rounds, taking different paths to the finish line. Martin was flawless through 13 holes, hitting birdies on No. 8 and No. 13, and rebounded from a bogey on the 14th hole to sink back-to-back birdies on No. 16 and No. 17. Putri made bogey on her first hole of the day and then played clean the rest of the way, making birdie on No. 3 and No. 4, and then bookended the back nine with birdies on No. 10 and No. 18.

Freshman Lauren Guiao rebounded from a tough first day to log a team score at two-over par, 74, sinking four birdies in the round. She had to rally after making bogey on the first three holes, getting two strokes back on the front nine and two more on the back, playing the final nine holes at even par. Sophomore Micaela Farah and freshman Inez Wanamarta halved the final team score at three-over par, 75.

Seventh-ranked Furman has a strong hold of the team leaderboard, sitting 26-under par after 36 holes, including a score of 15-under par, 273, Saturday. The Paladins hold a nine-shot lead on second-place Clemson, while Michigan State is third at 15-under par. Furman's Reona Hirai owns the individual lead at nine-under par after shooting four-under, 68, Saturday, and is followed closely by Clemson's Sydney Legacy.

The third round begins Sunday at 8 a.m. ET for the Boilermakers, set to hit the links with Texas A&M and Indiana for the final 18 holes.
