WEST LAFAYETTE, Ind. - No. 21 Purdue (3-0) is set to travel west to Laramie, Wyoming, for its first set of contests away from Holloway Gymnasium. There the Boilermakers will take on Jacksonville (2-1), Eastern Michigan (2-2) and Wyoming (1-2).

Purdue kicks off begins its road slate Friday, Sept. 1 with a match against Jacksonville at 6 p.m. ET. Saturday, Sept. 2 Dave Shondell and company will take on Eastern Michigan at 12 p.m. before it concludes the tournament against Wyoming at 9 p.m. in the Cowgirls' UniWyo Sports Complex. Eastern Michigan presents the most interesting test as the Eagles defeated Butler last weekend in four sets. Butler is picked to finish second to No. 7 Creighton in the Big East.

The Boilermakers are coming off a dominant weekend in which they swept each of their three opponents in Holloway Gymnasium to open the season. Ashley Evans was masterful as she set the offense to a 14.78 kills per set and a .368 hitting percentage. She finished the weekend assisting 109 of Purdue's 133 kills and a 12.11 assist per set average. Danielle Cuttino led all hitters with 39 kills and a .451 hitting percentage. Altogether, Cuttino, Azariah Stahl and Blake Mohler all finished the weekend with 20-plus kills and a hitting percentage north of .300 while Sherridan Atkinson registered 27 kills and a .276 hitting percentage. Brooke Peters led an impressive defensive stand, registering 40 digs to average 4.44 digs per set that contributed to holding opponents to their .141 hitting percentage.

  • Purdue is one of eight nationally ranked programs in the Big Ten.
  • Of the nine sets Purdue won this past weekend, four were by 10 points or more.
  • The Boilermakers currently rank third in the nation and second in the Big Ten with a .368 hitting percentage. Their 14.78 kills per set average ranks 25th.
  • Danielle Cuttino's .696 hitting percentage (17-1-23) is the third best recorded in the nation by any student-athlete in a three-set match.
  • Ashley Evans ranks 12th in the nation with a 12.11 assists per set average and is third in the Big Ten.
  • Danielle Cuttino owns the third best kills per set average in the Big Ten at 4.33 with 39 kills, ranking her fifth in the conference.
  • Brooke Peters' 4.44 digs per set is the third best in the Big Ten. Her 40 digs rank her sixth in the conference.
