WEST LAFAYETTE, Ind. -
The women's tennis team returns home Saturday, facing Virginia Tech at noon ET inside the Schwartz Tennis Center. The Boilermakers are coming off of their first road match and loss of the season, after falling 4-3 to Dartmouth in Hanover, New Hampshire last Sunday.

Purdue had two chances to extend its opening five-match win streak, but both Andjela Djokovic and Alex Sabe were unable to secure the third set of their respected matches.

Sabe fell first to Kristina Mathis 6-0, 2-6, 7-6 (7-3). Djokovic then gave up the deciding point to the Big Green, losing 6-4, 1-6, 6-4 to Jacqueline Crawford.

Last weekend's stumble was uncharacteristic of both players. Sabe leads the team in singles victories (13) this season and has the second most since the start of the spring (5); Djokovic stands just behind her in third (4).

Head coach Laura Glitz will need both women to refocus Saturday if the squad wants to earn a victory over the Hokies. Virginia Tech's lineup features the No. 47 singles player in the country, Caroline Daxhelet, who is also ranked No. 59 in doubles with partner Elena Cerezo-Codina.

Along with all home matches this season, tomorrow's competition will be streamed live on PurdueSports.com and feature live scoring.
