WILMINGTON, N.C. - The No. 14 Purdue women's golf team got things off to a great start Friday at the 15th-annual Landfall Tradition, hosted by UNC Wilmington at the Country Club of Landfall. The Boilermakers shot a solid three-over, 291, paced by matching marks of one-under, 71, from sophomores Ida Ayu Indira Melati Putri and Covadonga SanJuan.

Putri and SanJuan got the Boilermakers off to a quick start, combining to shoot three-under on the front nine at Landfall as the team wrapped up the opening half of the course at two-under par. Putri was bogey-free for the first nine holes with birdies on No. 3 and No. 6, while SanJuan carded birdies on No. 2 and No. 6, but gave one back on No. 4. Putri gave a stroke back on the back nine, while SanJuan matched a birdie with a bogey to shoot even and the pair finished the round tied for fifth, individually.

Senior August Kim continued her streak of impressive play, shooting even-par, 72, and finishing the day tied for 13th place. Juniors Linn Andersson and Marta Martin tied for the fourth and final team score at five-over, 77. The Boilermakers have now shot five-over, 293, or better in 6-of-7 rounds on the season.

The Boilermakers sit seven shots back from team leader Oklahoma, which finished the day at four-under, 284, while three-time Landfall Champion Wake Forest is second at even-par, 288. Oklahoma's Hannah Wood leads the field at three-under, 69, while three players are tied for second and six other players are tied with Putri and SanJuan.
