Eoff Named ASGA Player of the Year

Sept. 21, 2016

WEST LAFAYETTE, Ind. -- Purdue men's golfer Austin Eoff was named the Arkansas State Golf Association Player of the Year the organization announced recently.

Eoff and the seven other winners will be honored Nov. 3, at the Chenal Country Club during its annual banquet. Winners earn their way to the top of their divisions using the ASGA's point distribution that includes sponsored state events, USGA qualifying and events and finishes in national competitions.

Eoff, a native of Benton, Arkansas, accumulated 605 points to easily outdistance North Little Rock's Trey Schaap (507 points). He won the Arkansas State Amateur Championship for the second straight year after finishing as the runner-up in 2013.

Eoff returns for his senior season at Purdue looking to become just the third player in school history to be named All-Big Ten four times, joining Lenny Hartlage (1984-87) and Peter Richardson (2004-07). He is the school-record holder for career stroke average (72.75) and has 14 top-10 finishes in 40 career events, ranking fourth on the career top-10 finishes list.

So far this year, he has posted a pair of top-15 finishes at the Wolf Run Intercollegiate and OFCC / Fighting Illini Invitational.

Eoff and his teammates will compete in this weekend's Windon Memorial Classic
