RIO GRANDE, P.R. - The 19th-ranked Purdue women's golf team turned in a 14th-place effort at the 15th-annual Lady Puerto Rico Classic on Tuesday, shooting 24-over, 312, in the final round to finish 54-over, 918, for the tournament. Sophomore Linn Andersson and freshman Covadonga Sanjuan were the Boilermakers' top individuals, finishing tied for 26th place at eight-over, 224.

Both Andersson and SanJuan shot even-par in the final round as both posted three birdies Tuesday to climb the individual leaderboard. Both players made birdie on holes No. 4 and No. 11, while Andersson added a third on the par-4, No. 5 holes, while SanJuan made her other birdie on the par-4, No. 12. There were only 11 scores of par or better in the 88-player field Tuesday, but unfortunately SanJuan's effort didn't count towards the Boilermakers' team scores as she played the event as an individual.

The rest of the Boilermaker lineup struggled as sophomore Marta Martin, junior August Kim and freshman Ida Ayu Indira Melati Putri turned in the final three team scores. Martin made three birdies in the round, but still finished six-over, 78, on the day, while Kim and Putri both shot nine-over, 81.

Georgia took home the team title for the first time in 12 tries at the Lady Puerto Rico Classic, and became the eighth team to win the tournament. The Bulldogs shot two-over, 290, on the final day to overtake Arkansas for the team crown at three-over, 867, besting the Razorbacks by three strokes. Arkansas' Maria Fassi took home medalist honors and tied the top individual tournament score in event history, shooting three-under, 69, Tuesday to finish eight-under, 208. Fassi made par on her last four holes to outlast Texas Tech's Gabby Barker, who was second at seven-under, 209.

The Boilermakers continue their spring slate in two weeks, heading to Coral Gables, Florida for the Miami Hurricane Invitational at The Biltmore Golf Course.
