BRADENTON, Fla. - The Purdue women's golf team opened play at the 2015 NCAA Championships at The Concession Golf Club on Friday, shooting 14-over par before the round was postponed due to inclement weather. The Boilermakers are tied for 10th place with just nine holes to play as a team, but are just two strokes out of fifth place in the team standings.

The Boilermakers are tied with North Carolina State and Campbell in 10th place, but both the Wolfpack and Lady Camels have 33 holes left to play in their opening rounds. Just one stroke ahead of Purdue is Alabama, Northwestern, Tennessee and Washington, all at 13-over par, but Washington and Tennessee are the only two to finish the round. The Crimson Tide are playing in the same group as the Boilermakers with nine holes left, while Northwestern has 28 holes remaining in its first round.

Stanford and Baylor are in first and third places, respectively, at three-over par and seven-over par, but like Northwestern have 28 holes left in the first round. Duke has the top score of any team to finish the round, sitting five-over, 293, on the day. Southern California is fourth at nine-over par, 297, and Arizona is fifth at 12-over par, 300.

Senior Aurora Kan and freshman Marta Martin share the Boilermakers' top individual scores so far, sitting two-over par with a few holes left to play. Martin has two holes left after making two birdies and an eagle on Friday, while Kan has three holes left after making a pair of birdies so far in the round. Freshman Linn Andersson is the only Boilermaker to finish her opening round, sitting in the clubhouse at three-over, 75, and sinking a pair of birdies on the day.

Junior Anna Appert Lund has just one hole left in her opening round, playing at seven-over par so far, while sophomore August Kim has three holes left and is eight-over par.

The Boilermakers will conclude the first round starting at 8:30 a.m. tomorrow, and are scheduled to begin the second round Saturday at 9 a.m. For tee times and up-to-date live scoring, visit GolfStat.com.
