Wisconsin Deals Boilermakers 6-1 Loss

MADISON, Wis. - Wisconsin dealt the Purdue men's tennis team a 6-1 loss Sunday at Nielson Tennis Stadium. The setback dropped the Boilermakers to 4-12, 0-4 B1G on the season, while the Badgers improved to 6-12, 2-3 B1G.

Wisconsin clinched the doubles point by taking Nos. 2 and 3. The Badger duo of Lamar Remy and John Zordani handled Renan Hanayama and Lucas Dages in the No. 3 slot, 8-2, giving the Purdue pair their second loss of the season. At No. 2, Alexander Kokorev and Jakhongir Jalalov needed the seven-point tiebreaker to defeat Arthur Dobradin and Mateus Silva, 8-7 (5), to secure the point.

Wisconsin won five of the six singles matches in straight sets. At the No. 1 spot, Diego Acosta forced a third set after besting Josef Dodridge of Wisconsin in the second, but fell 6-1, 2-6, 6-1. Dobradin saved Purdue from being shutout with a 6-4, 7-6 (6) showing against Michael Sinha in the No. 4 spot.

The Boilermakers will be back in action on their home courts at the Schwartz Tennis Center Friday to face Iowa at 3 p.m. ET.
