AUSTIN, Texas -  The Boilermakers wrapped up their second day at the Texas Relays and the Texas State Bobcat Invitational on Friday. Savannah Carson had one of the top performances for Purdue on the day, as she ran the second-fastest 100-meter dash time in program history.



Carson competed in the 100m dash at the Texas State Invite. She ran a wind-legal time of 11.66 seconds to take seventh overall. Her time, with a tailwind of 0.4 meters per second, is just 0.01 of a second off the school record set by Sybil Perry in 1986. Carson won her heat by 0.44 of a second.



Alisha Bahler had a huge day in the women's hammer throw. The sophomore PRed by nearly 30 feet as she finished sixth overall. Bahler launched a throw of 55.84m (183-2) on her third attempt. Her throw is within 10 feet of the top five in program history.



At the Texas Relays, Symone Black competed in the 400m hurdles finals after qualifying on Thursday. Black PRed by 0.20 of a second with a time of 58.80 seconds to take sixth overall. Her time is sixth-best in school history and the fastest since 2001.



The Boilermakers had a pair of winners Friday as well. The women's 4x400m relay team of Taylor Dunlap, Aarin Jones, Carmiesha Cox and Brionna Thomas ran a time of 3:37.52 to be the top qualifiers for Saturday's finals. Luke Lewis was also a winner. He took the Men's Section B title with a throw of 17.22m (56-6.00) on his fifth attempt.



Purdue also had strong efforts in the men's and women's pole vault, women's 400m dash, women's 4x100m relay and women's sprint medley relay on Friday. Byron Ferrell took second at the Bobcat Invitational in the men's pole vault with an outdoor PR of 5.10m (16-8.75). Jessica Harter cleared 4.00m (13-1.50) on her second attempt at that height at the Texas Relays. She tied for fourth overall.



In the women's 400m dash at the Bobcat relays, Taylor Dunlap finished fourth with a time of 54.81. It was her first time ever running a sub-55 second time. The women's 4x100m relay team ran the fourth-fastest time in the prelims at the Texas Relays. The team qualifies for Saturday's finals after finishing with a time of 44.97 seconds. The women's sprint medley relay took fifth with a time of 3:52.11.



Thursday afternoon at the Bobcat Invite, Micaela Hazelwood had a PR in the discus. She threw 48.73m (159-10).
