TUCSON, Ariz. - The Purdue women's golf team turned in one of their best tournaments in school history, finishing the 54-hole MountainView Collegiate, hosted by the University of Missouri and Kansas State University at the MountainView Golf Club, tied for third place at even par, 864. Junior Anna Appert Lund and senior Aurora Kan both placed in the top-10, individually, as Appert Lund tied for second place and Kan finished seventh.
For the second-straight round the Boilermakers had three players shoot par or better as Kan fired three-under, 69, sophomore August Kim finished one-under, 71, and Appert Lund was even to finish the best tournament of her career. Appert Lund matched the 10th-best 54-hole tournament in Purdue history shooting six-under, 72-66-72=210, and finishing just one shot behind the MountainView Collegiate medalist. Kan was just shy of a career-best tournament, coming in at four-under, 73-70-69=212, and posting the second-best round of the final day of competition.
Despite a pair of tough rounds yesterday, Kim rebounded strong on the final day of play, making a team-high six birdies on Saturday to finish up five-over, 74-76-71=221. She and freshman Marta Martin tied for 40th, individually, as Martin and senior Johanna Tillström shared the last team score on Saturday at five-over, 77.
