Softball Celebrates Homecoming with Alumnae Game

WEST LAFAYETTE, Ind. - As part of the 2014 Homecoming festivities, the Boilermaker softball team welcomed program alumnae to play a final game on the field at the Boilermaker Softball Complex.

Ten players - Kristen Schell Cavallo, Crystal Inman Dombkowski, Danica Maher Kirkpatrick, Katie Mitchell, Jenny Deno Siemers, Sheryl Scheve Widner, Elizabeth Allum, Michelle Blades Stall, Tanya Stall Koeppen, MaryBeth Pavlick and Ashley Courtney - laced up their old cleats and put on a show for the 2015 edition of the team.

The 2015 Boilers will play seven more fall ball games in the old stadium before closing the gates on the competition field. Purdue is building a new state-of-the-art stadium down the road, which will open for the 2015 spring season.

To see the 2015 Boilermakers in action, fans may attend free events on Oct. 4, Oct. 5, Oct. 17, Oct. 18 and Oct. 19.

Purdue will face Purdue-Calumet at 11 a.m. and Lakeland College at 1 p.m. on Oct. 4. Calumet and Lakeland will play a 3 p.m. contest.

The Boilers welcome IPFW and South Suburban College to the field at 11 a.m. and 1 p.m. on Oct. 5. IPFW and SSC will face off at 3 p.m.

The Boilermakers will wrap up the fall campaign with a trio of Black and Gold games: 4 p.m. Oct. 17 and 10 a.m. on Oct. 18 and 19.
