Women's Track & Field Sets DMR Records At GVSU Big Meet

ALLENDALE, Mich. - The Purdue women's track and field team wrapped up an impressive showing at the Grand Valley State University Big Meet on Saturday, posting their fifth event victory of the meet with a first-place effort in the distance medley relay. The Boilermaker women set both a facility and meet record on the day, completing the relay in 11:37.35.

The Purdue squad comprised of senior NaTasha Blair and sophomores Kelly McCurdy, Alice Feslier Holmes and Camille Buscomb bested the previous record by approximately 10 seconds. The previous record stood at 11:44.87, set by the host Lakers last season at their conference championship meet.

The Boilermakers have their final warm-up meet before the Big Ten Indoor Championships next weekend, hosting the Boilermaker Invitational. The Purdue women will host the 2011 Big Ten Indoor Championships at Lambert Fieldhouse on Saturday and Sunday, Feb. 26-27.
