CHAMPAIGN, Ill. - The Purdue University women's track and field team musted just six team points in the second day of competition to finish ninth at the Big Ten Indoor Championships, hosted by the University of Illinois on Sunday. The Boilers finished with 41 team points, just a point shy of eighth place.
Senior Laura Farley took home sixth place in the 800-meter run, posting a time of 2:11.39 in the finals, and junior Leah Kincaid grabbed seventh in the 60-meter hurdles with a time of 8.54 seconds. Fellow junior Sheena James followed yesterday's third-place showing in the shot put with an eighth-place finish in the weight throw, marking a career-best 16.68 meters (54-08.75).
Select Boilermakers will compete a next weekend's Notre Dame Last Chance meet, while others will wait for the NCAA Indoor Championships on March 9-10 in Fayetteville, Ark.
