SOUTH BEND, Ind. - The Boilermaker men's and women's track teams posted nine top eight finishes during the final day of action at the Meyo Invitational in South Bend on Saturday.

Sophomore Sheena James (Clinton, Iowa) took second in the shot put with a personal best toss of 14.96 meters (49-feet-1 inch), adding her ninth place finish in the weight throw on Day 1.

Freshman Brianna Neumann (Fort Wayne, Ind.) and freshman Mallory Peck (Sioux Falls, S.D.) finished third and fourth respectively in the pole vault competition. The duo recorded identical clearances of 3.80 meters (12-feet 5 ½). The mark was a personal best for Peck.

The Boilermaker 4x400-meter relay team posted a season-best time of 3:46.63 en route to a sixth-place finish. Junior Corrie Whisner (West Chester, Ohio) finished eighth in the mile run with a time of 4:55.66, while senior Brooke Woodruff (Cape Girardo, Mo.) clocked a season-best time of 2:09.18 in the 800-meter run, which was good for eighth place. The mark was less than a second off of the school record time of 2:08.28 set by Kim Jordan in 2002. Junior Laura Farley (Indianapolis, Ind.) registered a personal best time of 2:11.27 in the event.

Sophomore Leah Kincaid (Springfield, Ill.) finished 10th in the 60m hurdles after posting the fifth-best time in the preliminary heats with a personal best clocking of 8.63. Senior LaShauna Harris (Millbrook, Ala.) finished 10th in the 200-meter rounding out Purdue's listing of top 12 finishes at the 34 team meet.

On the men's side, junior Rickey Pinkney led the way with a third-place finish in the 60m hurdles, with a clocking of 7.94. Sophomore Tyler Miller placed sixth in the shot put with a toss of 53-9 ¾ (16.40m), while junior Rayland Currie (Las Vegas, Nev.) finished seventh in the triple jump with a season-best leap of 47-9 ¾ (14.57m).

Senior David Rae (Naperville, Ill.) posted a personal best time of 8:07.13 in the 3000-meter run en route to a 12th-place finish. The mark was less than a second off the Purdue school record of 8:06.39 set by Donnie Fellows in 2002, and is the second best time in school history.

Sophomore Jh'Rome Tuggle (Gary, Ind.) clocked a personal-best time of 48.70, while finishing 12th in the 400m. Tuggle finished fifth in Friday's 500-meter run competition.

The Boilermakers return to action on Feb. 10, when they travel to Ames, Iowa for the Iowa State Invitational.
