Boilermakers Fifth At Lady Northern

ANN ARBOR, Mich. - The Purdue women's golf team is in fifth place after two rounds of the Lady Northern.

The Boilermakers totaled 597 on Saturday after rounds of 303 and 294. Host Michigan leads the tournament after a total of 585 through 36 holes.

The event is being hosted by the Michigan and held at the University of Michigan Golf Course. The tournament features six golfers from each team, with the top four scores counting. The course is a par 72, 5,966-yard layout. It is the first event of the fall season for the Boilermakers.

Purdue was led by sophomore Myrte Eikenaar, who total an even-par 144 over the first 36 holes. She is in second place overall.

Junior Onnarin Sattayabanphot is tied for 10th overall after posting scores of 77 and 71. Sophomore Caroline Haase shook off an 82 on the first 18 holes and recorded an even-par 72 on the second round. She is tied for 32nd overall.

Freshman Whitney Frykman is tied for 38th after the first two rounds of her first collegiate tournament. She totaled a 155 on Saturday. Sophomore Maria Stinson totaled a 158 and is tied for 54th overall. Sophomore Kara Eschbach is tied for 73rd after a total of 164.

The Boilermakers will play the final 18 holes of the tournament on Sunday, beginning at 9 a.m.
