The Purdue men's golf team is tied for sixth after the first round of the Northern Intercollegiate in Ann Arbor, Mich. The event is being hosted by the University of Michigan.
The Boilermakers fired a first-round 294 and are tied with Ohio State for sixth. Indiana leads the event after a first-round 283. The Boilermakers will play part of the second round on Saturday evening. The field will conclude second-round play on Sunday morning and then complete round three.
The tournament is being held on the par-71, 6,702-yard University of Michigan Golf Course, the site of the 2004 Big Ten Championships.
Purdue was led in the first round by senior Luke Epp, who is tied for 13th after a 72. Freshman Peter Richardson is tied for 22nd after a 73.
Senior Shiv Kapur is tied for 32nd after a 74. Junior Dustin Cone carded a 75 and is tied for 40th. Freshman Pariya Junhasavasdikul is tied for 59th after a first-round 77.
Action is slated to begin at 8:30 a.m. EST on Sunday with a shotgun start. Live scoring is being provided at golfstat.com.
