Men's Golf Places Fourth At Badger Invitational

MADISON, Wis. - The Purdue men's golf team placed fourth at the Badger Invitational. Eighteen holes of the tournament were cancelled due to rainy conditions over the three days. The final nine holes were completed on Sunday.

The Boilermakers fired a final-round 301 and finished only six strokes behind UNC-Wilmington.

The event was hosted by the University of Wisconsin and held at the University Ridge Golf Course. Nine women's and men's teams played on the par-72 course. The women's yardage was 6,025, while the men's measured 6,888.

Purdue was led by senior Shiv Kapur, who fired a final-round 75 after a first round 69. Kapur led the event after the first 18 holes.

Freshman Peter Richardson tied for sixth overall after a two-round 148. Freshman Pariya Junhasavasdikul tied for ninth overall after a first-round 73 and a 76 on Sunday. It was the first collegiate tournament for both Richardson and Junhasavasdikul.

Junior Dustin Cone tied for 16th after a two-round total of 150.

Freshman Adam Vandoski finished 43 after a 158.

The Boilermakers are back in action on Sept. 20 and 21, in Ann Arbor, Mich., for the Northern Wolverine Intercollegiate.
