Aug. 1: Camp Opens
Purdue completed its first practice of the season in low 80-degree temperates under sunny skies on the practice fields just north of the Football Performance Complex.
"We want to try to start the season how we finished (last season)," head coach Jeff Brohm said. "I was happy with the way we finished. We showed progress. We found a way to win. And for us to win early on, we're going to have to start at that point."
Brohm closed the session with the announcement of team's captains for 2018:
- LB / Markus Bailey
- C / Kirk Barron
- QB / David Blough
- RB / DJ Knox
- DT / Lorenzo Neal
- P / Joe Schopper
- QB / Elijah Sindelar
- S / Jacob Thieneman
"I love that group," Brohm added. "I think they are tremendous leaders for us and they're all a little bit different in their own way. I think they'll do a great job leading the team."
