Tracy Webster

Tracy Webster begins his first season as an assistant coach at Purdue.

Webster began his collegiate coaching career at Ball State, where he?s spent the past three seasons. While in Muncie, Webster helped Ball State to the school?s first outright Mid-American Conference West Division championship. The Cardinals also enjoyed the longest postseason run in school history, advancing to the Elite Eight of the 2002 National Invitation Tournament.

Webster, a 1995 graduate of Wisconsin, played for the Badgers for three seasons. He holds the school record for assists (501) and is 10th in points scored (1,264) and second in steals (183). He is in the top 10 in seven other categories at Wisconsin.

Webster attended Thornton High School in Harvey, Ill., where he played four years. He was selected the sixth-best point guard in Chicago history by the Chicago Sun Times in 1992.

Prior to joining the Cardinals, Webster spent 1999-2000 as the director of Webster Extramural Basketball Productions and as a care coordinator at Willowglen Academy in Milwaukee.

In 1998-99, Webster was an assistant coach at Wisconsin-Parkside, and prior to that spent two seasons as the head freshman and assistant varsity coach at Verona H.S. in Wisconsin. From 1994 to 1997, he served as the coordinator of community outreach programs at the University of Wisconsin.

A three-time team captain, he was ranked one of the 100 University of Wisconsin Athletes of the Century by the Wisconsin State Journal in 1999. He is married to the former Shenetta Richardson.
