Todd Hode joined the Purdue coaching staff in the fall of 2002. Hode's responsibilities include assisting coach Rob Smith with the training and instruction of the Boilermaker pitching staff.
Hode also handles various administrative duties, such as compiling scouting and recruiting reports.
Hode spent the summer of 2002 as the head coach of the Crystal Lake Cardinals, a summer collegiate team based in Crystal Lake, Ill. Under his guidance, Crystal Lake captured the Chicago-Metro Collegiate League title, as well as the Illiana League crown. The championships were the first in the program?s eight-year history.
Prior to serving with the Crystal Lake Cardinals, Hode was the pitching coach at Prairie Ridge High School in Crystal Lake, Ill., for one season.
From 1999 to 2000, Hode served as an assistant coach at Eckerd College in St. Petersburg, Fla. Hode has also been an instructor at numerous camps, including the Roberto Clemente All Star Camps in 2000 and Grand Slam USA in 2002.
A 2000 graduate of Eckerd College with a B.A. degree in human development, Hode was a member of the Eckerd baseball team in 1998. He also played two seasons at McHenry County College in Crystal Lake, Ill., and one at Carthage College in Kenosha, Wis.
Hode presently resides in West Lafayette and is single.
