Kylann Ward is in her fifth season as a video producer for Purdue Athletics, shifting her focus to football in 2019 after four years with men's basketball. Her role is to elevate the Purdue Athletics brand through the creation and development of recruiting, marketing and promotional content via social media, television and PurdueSports.com.
She helped launch the website and feature documentary entitled "Transformative" to promote Purdue men’s basketball All-American Caleb Swanigan for national player of the year recognition in 2017. Her 18-minute feature documentary on Swanigan’s life garnered acclaim across the industry, which included recognition as a finalist for the Sports Video Group (SVG) for the Outstanding Collegiate Special Feature.
Prior to coming to Purdue, Ward gained invaluable experience working at the Travel Channel, HGTV and DIY Networks.
Ward, then going by her maiden name Scheidt, was a two-time letterwinner in volleyball at the University of Tennessee in 2010 and 2011, helping the Volunteers to the Southeastern Conference championship in 2011. She transferred to American University for her final two seasons, helping the Eagles to both a Patriot League championship and trip to the NCAA Tournament Sweet 16 in 2013.
The Lincoln, Nebraska, native obtained a Bachelor of Arts degree in film and media arts from American in 2014. Kylann is married to Sean. They enjoy traveling, attending sporting events, movies and spending time with family.
