Jon Adams

Jon Adams is the most recent addition to the Boilermaker coaching staff, joining the Purdue baseball program in the summer 2005.

Adams comes to West Lafayette from Oakland City University, where he served as the Mighty Oaks[apos] pitching coach for two seasons. Under his tutelage, OCU[apos]s pitching staff helped the Mighty Okas place second at the NCCAA national tournament in 2005.

Prior to his stint at OCU, Adams served as the pitching coach at Wabash Valley Junior College in Mt. Carmel, Ill., helping the Warriors to a 42-19 record in 2002 and a No. 15 national ranking.

From 1999-2004, Adams held the post of pitching coach for the Indiana Yankees, a summer select baseball team. With Adams directing the mound, the Yankees finished the 2003 season ranked No. 1 in the state and No. 3 in the nation according to Baseball America.

Adams played junior college baseball at Vincennes University in Vincennes, Ind., and earned a bachelor[apos]s degree in physical education and a master[apos]s degree in management from Oakland City.

Adams[apos] collegiate baseball career closed at the University of Southern Indiana in Evansville, Ind., where he posted the second-best ERA in the Great Lakes Valley Conference in 2000 with a 2.78.

A native of Fort Branch, Ind., Adams is a 1997 graduate of Gibson Southern High School. During his prep baseball career, Adams threw the lone perfect game in the 60-plus year history of Princeton[apos]s Post 25 American Legion team in 1995.

Adams is married to the former Terri McCormick, and the couple currently resides in Lafayette.
