Cameron Ortyl

Cameron Ortyl was named Associate Director of Sports Medicine for Purdue Football in April 2025, returning to his alma mater with a wealth of knowledge and experiences built at both the collegiate and professional levels.

Ortyl was named Assistant Athletics Director and Head Football Athletic Trainer for UNLV in summer 2024. He came to Las Vegas after two seasons as an assistant athletic trainer at USC. Before that stint with the Trojans, he served in the same role at the University of Illinois for three seasons starting in 2019. 

A 2015 graduate of Purdue with his bachelor’s degree in athletic training, Ortyl earned his master’s from Clemson and was a graduate assistant athletic trainer for the 2017 national champion Tigers. The Michigan native was also twice a summer intern and then a three-year seasonal athletic training intern in the NFL with the Indianapolis Colts.
