TitleAssistant Director of External Communications (Wrestling / Athletics)
Brook Weber

Brook Weber joined the strategic communications staff in August 2023. He is responsible for developing and managing publicity efforts geared toward Purdue Athletics’ fans, donors and other principal stakeholders, and serves as a primary contributor to the Purdue Athletics social media channels and website. In addition to his duties as a manager for PurdueSports.com, Weber serves as lead editor for all athletic features in the Purdue Stories series, the official storytelling initiative of Purdue University. He is a contact in the credentialing process for all varsity Purdue sports and also contributes on football game days as the lead writer for post-game recaps.

In October 2024, Weber added the role of sports information director for Purdue Wrestling to his duties. He travels with the team and works all home events as a publicist, social media administrator and media relations manager for the school's fourth-most followed sport.

Weber came to Purdue after serving three full-season communications internships with the National Football League’s Cincinnati Bengals, Houston Texans and Dallas Cowboys. During his time in the NFL, he gained experience working in media relations with national and local reporters, facilitating interviews with high-profile athletes, developing publications and handling day-to-day internal and external communications duties for three of the industry's biggest brands.

Weber earned his bachelor’s degree in advertising and public relations from the University of Nebraska, where he worked four years in the athletic communications office as a student sport contact for the Cornhuskers. Before college, he started as a public relations intern for SMU Athletics during his senior year of high school as a native of Forney, Texas.

He and his wife, Brianna (married June 2024), reside in Lafayette with their baby boy, Hudson (born March 2026).
