Brook Weber joined the strategic communications staff in August 2023. He is responsible for developing and managing publicity efforts geared toward Purdue Athletics’ fans, donors and other principal stakeholders, and serves as a primary contributor to the Purdue Athletics social media channels. He also contributes on Purdue Football game days as the lead writer for post-game website recaps and manages the credentialing of media and staff.
In October 2024, Weber added the role of sports information director for Purdue Wrestling to his duties. He travels with the team and works all home events as a publicist and social media administrator.
Weber came to Purdue after serving three full-season communications internships with the National Football League’s Cincinnati Bengals, Houston Texans and Dallas Cowboys. During his time in the NFL, he gained experience developing publications, working in media relations with national and local reporters, facilitating interviews with professional athletes and handling day-to-day internal and external communications duties.
Before his stints in the NFL, Weber earned a bachelor’s degree in advertising and public relations from the University of Nebraska, where he worked four years in the athletic communications office as a student sport contact for the Cornhuskers. Prior to his collegiate career, he got his start in the field of public relations as a part-time intern for SMU Athletics during his senior year of high school.
The Forney, Texas, native came to West Lafayette with his now-wife, Brianna, whom he married in June 2024.
