Alvin Franklin joined the John Purdue Club staff in August of 2019 as a director of development. His primary responsibility is maintaining a portfolio of donors and prospects with a high-level annual fund and major gift focus.
Prior to joining the Boilermakers, Franklin served as the assistant director for athletic development at the University of South Alabama, where he was involved with major gifts, the annual fund and restricted giving. He also has held roles in athletic development with the University of Alabama-Birmingham and Mississippi State. In 2017, he served as an assistant baseball coach at Hinds Community College, helping lead the team to the JUCO World Series.
A native of Jackson, Mississippi, Franklin earned a bachelor's degree in economics from Jackson State University in 2015 and a master's degree from Mississippi State University in 2016.
