Lizzie Carr Season 2022

2023 / AS A REDSHIRT-FRESHMAN

• Academic All-Big Ten
• Appeared in 30 sets over 18 matches, including 10 Big Ten matches
• Went errorless in the NCAA First Round vs. Fairfield (11/30/23) with three kills on six attempts (.500%)
• Went perfect on the attack at Maryland (9/22) with two kills on two attempts.
• Went perfect on the attack in the NCAA Second Round vs. #6 seed Marquette (12/1/23)
• Totaled eight blocks over the season, setting a career-high three vs. Loyola Chicago (8/27)
• Registered a pair of blocks vs. #18 Creighton (8/26/23)

HIGH SCHOOL

• Club Team: East Coast Power Volleyball
• Member of the National Team at East Coast Power, where she helped the team to fifth-place at AAU Nationals
• As a senior, posted 418 kills, 103 total blocks and 47 aces in just 21 matches
• Averaged 6.2 kills per set
• Named Max Preps/AVCA Pennsylvania Player of the Week on Sept. 13, 2021 for after posting 47 kills and 5.88 kills per game
• As a junior, was named an All-League First Team member and an All-Area Honorable Mention.
• Posting just 124 kills in eight matches, Carr averaged 4.0 kills per set.
• All-Area Honorable Mention and All-League Second Team selection as a sophomore
   

Carr on choosing Purdue: "I chose Purdue volleyball because of the culture and high-level training and development that the coaches are known for. I wanted to be part of a family and from my first contact with the team, I was so impressed with how authentic and sincere everyone was. They truly care about each other. The players and coaches are all working towards the same goal – to be the best athlete and person they can be – and I cannot wait to be surrounded by this amazing group of individuals who share the same goals and passion for the sport that I do."

Shondell on Carr: "Lizzie is a breath of fresh air at 6'6 and full of confidence and high energy. Lizzie is an ideal athlete for our program. She is eager to train and continue learning. I have seen very few young athletes with her height who are as fit for our sport. With the competition in our league getting longer each year, the addition of Lizzie will help us compete at the top level."
