Pristina Jones is in her third year with the Purdue track & field and cross country program in 2020-21 as the supervisor of operations.
Jones’ duties with the Boilermakers include scheduling and coordinating all team travel and events, overseeing the student managers and serving as a liaison with the athletics compliance office. Additionally, Jones plays an integral role in assisting the track & field and cross country support staff, including equipment, communications, nutrition and sports medicine
Jones comes to Purdue from Notre Dame, where she worked with the sprint, hurdle and horizontal jump student-athletes as an assistant coach for four seasons from 2014-18. While in South Bend, Jones helped coach the Irish women to a fifth-place finish at the 2016 NCAA Indoor Championships and a third-place finish at the ACC indoor championships in 2015 and 2016, as well as fifth-place finishes at the outdoor conference meet in 2015 and 2016.
Jones also had a large role in scheduling events and overseeing student managers while serving as the compliance liaison in addition to recruiting student-athletes across the nation.
Prior to Notre Dame, Jones has helped develop programs both academically and athletically at several schools across the country. She served as the head women’s track & field and cross country coach at Jacksonville State University from 2011-14 and the assistant girls' track & field coach at Warren Central High in Indianapolis from 2010-11. Jones was as the head women's track & field and cross country coach at Chicago State University from 2006-09 and the men’s jumps coach from 2006-08. Her coaching career began at Jacksonville State University as an assistant coach in 2005-06.
Jones earned a bachelors in marketing degree from North Central College in 1999. She received her MBA with a concentration in applied management in 2013 and a masters of arts degree with a concentration in Organizational Leadership in 2016, both from Indiana Wesleyan.
