Provisionally qualified for the NCAA Indoor Championships with a mark of 2.14 meters (7-00.25) at the Meyo Invitational (2/7); placed fourth in the high jump at the Big Ten Indoor Championships (3/1); cleared 2.15 meters (7-00.50) at the Mike Poehlein Invitational (4/4) and at the Dave Rankin Invitational (4/18), earning a trip to the NCAA Mideast Regionals; scored in the high jump and long jump at the Big Ten Outdoor Championships (5/16), taking third in the high jump at 2.16 meters (7-01.00) and fourth in the long jump at 7.11 meters (23-04.00); secured at-large qualification to the national outdoor meet with his season-best mark; earned All-America honors with a fifth-place showing in the high jump at the NCAA Outdoor Championships (6/12); won the Nigeria Mobil Trials (7/25) in the high jump with a mark of 2.15 meters (7-00.50).
2008 (SOPHOMORE)
Won the Big Ten Indoor Championship (3/1) in the high jump, clearing the seven-foot mark for the first time in his career (2.14m/7-00.25) and grabbing First-Team All-Big Ten recognition; earned his first NCAA Regional qualifier with a mark of 2.14 meters (7-00.25) at the Dave Rankin Invitational (4/17); claimed the silver medal in the high jump at the Big Ten Outdoor Championships, earning Second-Team All-Big Ten honors; locked up an automatic bid to the NCAA Outdoor Championships with a fourth-place effort at the regional meet (5/30).
2007 (FRESHMAN)
Placed fourth at the Big Ten Outdoor Championships (5/12) in the high jump, clearing 2.06 meters (6-09.00).
HIGH SCHOOL
Three-year varsity letterwinner at Naperville North High School; two-time AAU Junior Olympic national qualifier and 2006 AAU Junior Olympic medalist; won a pair of conference championships and DuPage County All-Area honors.
