Broke the Boilermakers[apos] 21-year old indoor triple jump record at the Big Ten Championships, marking a career-best 12.90 meters (42-04.00) and winning the conference crown; posted the second-best outdoor triple jump mark in school history at the outdoor conference meet, taking third place with a jump of 12.88 meters (42-03.25); marked the fifth best indoor long jump in Purdue history at the Notre Dame Meyo Invitational, leaping 5.91 meters (19-04.75); qualified for the NCAA Mideast Regional Championships in the triple jump; clocked a career-best time of 8.01 in the 60-meter dash at the Gene Edmonds Cup.

BEFORE PURDUE
Transferred to Purdue from Portland State University in the fall of 2008; qualified for the 2008 NCAA West Regionals in the triple jump with a mark of 12.52 meters (41-01.00), which was second all-time at Portland State; placed second at the 2008 Big Sky Conference Championships in the triple jump; won the 2004 Washington high school state championship in the triple jump.

Four-year varsity letterwinner in track and field and gymnastics at Highline High School; won four Washington State High School titles, competing on the state[apos]s top 4x100-meter relay squad as a sophomore, junior and senior and winning the triple jump title as a sophomore; four-time Washington State Division I All Star; named a track and field team captain as a senior; named the Highline High School Female Athlete of the Year as a senior.

Nkeiru Ugwoaba was born July 14, 1988, in Burien, Wash.; is the daughter of Godwin and Okeoma Ugwoaba; has two brothers, Umeko and Uche, and one sister, Chika; enjoys shopping and listening to music; majoring in genetic biology with a minor in forensic science.
