Kaleena Cappel enters her first season as a volunteer assistant coach after completing her collegiate career with the Boilermakers last spring. She earned a varsity letter last year after a great senior season. She ran the leadoff, and fastest leg, on one of the fastest 4x1,500-meter relay teams in school history, recording a time of 18:23.02 at the 2006 Penn Relays. She also ran the anchor leg of the distance medley relay squad, which finished fifth at the Big Ten Indoor Championships. Also a member of the Purdue Cross Country program, for which she served as a volunteer assistant this past fall, she holds one of the fastest times by any Boilermaker on the Purdue 6K course.
