Balducci Punches Ticket to NCAA Singles Championship

Rome, Ga. - Lorenzo Balducci punched his ticket to the NCAA Singles Championship with a decisive performance at the ITA Conference Masters to become the youngest Boilermaker in program history to earn a singles bid to the NCAA tournament.

Balducci, on a roll after the previous two rounds, downed Texas Tech's Niksa Arsic to not only advance to the semifinals, but earn the bid to the NCAA championship.

Balducci will be one of two Boilermakers to compete at NCAAs, hosted November 17-25 at the University of Georgia, joined by junior Nour Fathalla, who earned his spot during the ITA Ohio Valley Regional last month.

It will be the first time in program history Purdue will send two men's players to the NCAA singles championhips.

With the ITA Conference Masters semifinalists determined, and bids earned for each respective player, the semifinal and championship match will not be played. Balducci and Fathalla's season will continue in two weeks as they compete for the NCAA Singles Championship.
