SAN FRANCISCO - The Purdue women’s tennis team continued competition in the consolation bracket for singles and doubles on Friday at the California Tennis Club.
Reese Frank earned a 7-5, 7-5 victory over USC’s Simone Kay to advance to the consolation quarterfinals.
In singles action, Nehir Dogan competed against Ema Bubalo of Colorado in a three-set match. After dropping the first set 6-1, Dogan took the second set in a 14-12 tiebreak before ultimately falling 10-8 in the deciding set.
In consolation doubles, Frank and Dogan competed against California's Laura Cilekova and Millie Johanna Moerk, losing 6-2.
Purdue will continue competition at the Battle in the Bay Classic on Saturday.
