GRANBURY, Texas – Junior Lauren Timpf fired a 2-under 70 to lead No. 23 Purdue Women’s Golf in the opening round of the Abilene Christian Intercollegiate at Halbert National. As a team, the Boilermakers (+6) find themselves in a tie for sixth after 18 holes of play.

No. 6 Oregon (-12) holds a three-shot lead over No. 14 Tennessee (-9), while No. 18 Arizona State and Louisville (E) sit in a tie for third.

Timpf began her round with a birdie on the par-5 first, one of a team-high four birdies throughout the day. She birdied three of her final six holes, which included a 2-putt birdie at the 15th and a tap-in birdie on No. 17. Alternating birdies and pars down the stretch, Timpf secured her under-par round and a spot in the Top 5 of the individual leaderboard.

Ashley Kim made three birdies of her own and carded an even-par 72. Returning to her home state, the Westlake, Texas native finished strong by playing her final 13 holes bogey free and including a pair of birdies.

Making her season debut in the Purdue lineup, junior Michaela Headlee shot 74 (+2). She made two birdies on the front nine before grinding out eight pars on the back side. Luana Valero added a 78 (+6) to contribute to the team score.

The Boilermakers will look to make a move up the leaderboard during Tuesday’s second round. Live coverage of the tournament begins at 4 p.m. ET on Golf Channel. Additional coverage can be found by following Purdue Women's Golf on X @PurdueWGolf.
