WEST LAFAYETTE, Ind. - Purdue Football is coming off back-to-back Big Ten wins, over Illinois and Minnesota, to take momentum into a Friday Night Lights showdown at home with Washington on Friday, Oct. 16 at 8 p.m. ET on Fox.
Ahead of the matchup, that is followed by Purdue's only bye week of the 2026 season, head coach Barry Odom, offensive coordinator Josh Henson and defensive coordinator Kevin Kane addressed the media at Monday's press conference.
Game 7 Prep: Head Coach Barry Odom Press Conference
It’s a very unique stadium and when you can capture the home field advantage, the noise stays in the stadium. You look at 18,000 students that will be there early and be loud, that’s a game changer… They can change the outcome of a game when you get it the way it should be. I’m so thankful for what our crowds have been and what it’s going to be on Friday night.
- Head Coach Barry OdomI thought our offensive line took a huge step forward, and I thought we were pretty solid in protection all night long. And, too, in the run game, I thought we were much more effective blocking up front. Credit to Coach Crabtree and the offensive line with the way they’ve been working, these guys have continued to improve every week.
- Offensive Coordinator John HensonWe eliminated some things to allow them to think less and play fast. Each week, you’ve seen progress, and I keep saying every week that we need to continue to get better, and that’s what we’ve been doing.
