WEST LAFAYETTE, Ind. - Purdue’s Krystina Wolf was named the Big Ten Co-Goalkeeper of the Week as announced by the conference on Tuesday. Wolf shares the honor with Nyamma Nelson of Northwestern.
This is a first-career honor in the Big Ten for Wolf. She is the first Purdue keeper to earn the honor since Emily Edwards a season ago.
Wolf recorded her fifth and sixth shutouts of the season and ninth and tenth wins in goal as Purdue went 2-0 on the week with a pair of 3-0 victories of Illinois and Minnesota.T he sophomore played all 180 minutes in goal on the week, making 9 saves with a 0.00 GAA. Wolf’s 10th win on the season puts her at 10th all-time in the Purdue record book for single-season wins.
Wolf has also garnered attention both nationally and in the conference as she ranks 12th in the country in GAA (First in the Big Ten), 11th in the nation in save percentage (Second in the Big Ten), and ninth in the country in shutouts (Second in the Big Ten).
Wolf helped Purdue to earn its 10th win on the season which is the fastest the program has reached the mark since the 2007 Big Ten Championship team.
The Boilers will take on Penn State this Saturday, Oct. 3 at 7:00 p.m. to begin the October slate.
