WEST LAFAYETTE, Ind. – The No. 10 Purdue Boilermakers (8-3, 1-1 Big Ten) fell to the No. 6 Wisconsin Badgers (8-4, 2-0 Big Ten) in the final Mackey Match of the season (18-25, 15-25, 21-25). With the result, Purdue’s sweep streak came to an end, finishing with six straight - the second-longest mark in program history.
The loss was the first for the Boilermakers against a top-10 team this season (1-1).
Freshman Addy Tindall led the Boilermakers once again and was the first to reach double-digit kills for either team. In total, she finished the day with 11 kills – tying with Wisconsin’s highly-touted freshman Decelise Champion to lead all players.
Grace Heaney was on the verge of recording her second consecutive double-double against the Badgers, registering nine kills and 10 digs.
Setter Taylor Anderson dished out 30 assists, while also adding seven digs and one service ace.
MaryKate Scheumann tied her career-high in service aces with two in the match. Scheumann also added six digs and one assist against the Badgers.
Dior Charles notched an errorless performance on the attack with three kills on seven total attacks (.429%). Defensively, Charles gave Purdue a spark, leading the team with four blocks.
The match served as alumnae day for former Purdue volleyball players. The team welcomed home 30 alums to be honored during the match.
