WEST LAFAYETTE, Ind. – Purdue Cross Country heads to Chicago for its second meet of the season on Friday, Sept. 25 at the Sean Earl Loyola Lakefront Invitational.
Men’s Notes
• At a competitive season-opener in Terre Haute, Nerius White paced the men’s side with his 51st-place finish in the 8k. His 24:30 was the second-best time he has run in his career.
• Nate Assa was the second Boilermaker to finish at the opener in 91st with a 24:54.2. It was the sophomore’s fifth collegiate 8k and his best time by 10.7 seconds.
• Douglas Buckeridge rounded out Purdue’s top three in 124th (25:13.2). He will continue to find his form on Friday after three consecutive Great Lakes All-Region campaigns.
Women’s Notes
• Lauren Pegher was Purdue’s top finisher on the women’s side at the opener in 80th. She ran 21:34.6 to top her previous personal best in a 6k race by 2.4 seconds.
• Katherine Valentine opener her sophomore season in 92nd in 21:47.5 that broke her previous personal best by 52.8 seconds. She improved her placement throughout the entirety of the race.

Purdue has two weeks off before traveling to the Pre-National Invitational in Terre Haute, Indiana on Friday, Oct. 16.
