WEST LAFAYETTE, Ind. – The No. 11 Purdue Boilermakers (6-2) opened up the 2026 Stacey Clark Classic with a 3-0 sweep over the UAlbany Great Danes (3-7) in Holloway Gymnasium (25-17, 25-11, 25-21).
With the win, Purdue extended its winning streak to four straight matches without dropping a single set (12 straight).
The Boilermaker offense was rolling in the first set, hitting .400 as a team on only two attack errors. The squad finished the night hitting .353 which included 10 Boilermakers with one attack error or less and five with zero attack errors.
Grace Heaney notched an errorless night with 11 kills on 18 total attacks and hitting .611, marking the eighth errorless offensive performance in her career, and the fifth while reaching at least 10 kills. Meanwhile, her performance was complimented by a career-high-tying three service aces, four block assists and five digs.
Taylor Anderson eclipsed Mary Fischl (1977-80) and All-American Ashley Evans (2014-17) in Purdue’s career top-10 assists list. She now sits at No. 7 all-time in career assists for Purdue with 4,139 after recording 31 tonight.
Kate Hansen added to the offensive power for the Boilers, hitting at a .429 clip with 7 kills.
Freshman defensive specialists MaryKate Scheumann and Elle Schara combined for 20 total digs in the match, both with 10 each.
The Boilermakers posted as high of a 91% sideout in set two. The squad held the Great Danes to a .127 hitting % – the fourth time this season Purdue’s held its opponent to under .185%.
