Forrester Tabbed Big Ten Golfer of the Week

WEST LAFAYETTE, Ind. – Jenson Forrester earned his first career weekly accolade on Thursday when the Big Ten Conference announced him as the Big Ten Golfer of the Week after earning co-medalist honors at the New York Harbor Cup last week.

Forrester, a senior from Wolverhampton, England, fired a 54-hole total of 12-under par 201 (69-64-68) to share medalist honors at the New York Harbor Cup. His 201 tied for the fifth-lowest round in Purdue history, while the second-round 64 tied for the third-lowest round in Purdue history. He managed to record 17 birdies against just five bogeys while winning the first tournament of his career.

Forrester now owns a 72.45 career stroke average in his three seasons at Purdue after transferring from East Tennessee State.

The Boilermakers will travel to Toledo, Ohio, for the Inverness Intercollegiate, starting Sunday and lasting through Tuesday.
