WEST LAFAYETTE, Ind. – Purdue Track & Field head coach Tony Miller announced the addition of Cam Miller to the staff as an assistant sprints coach. With the addition, Purdue rounded out its staff of five assistants under Miller for the 2026-27 season.
Miller is a former collegiate track & field star who competed for two seasons at Purdue (2023-25) after one year at Louisville (2022-23) and three years at Florida (2019-22). During his career, Miller was a five-time First Team All-American, three-time Second Team All-American and one-time Honorable Mention All-American. Five of his All-American honors came as a Boilermaker.
“One of the things we needed more of here at Purdue was an elite mindset,” said Tony Miller. “Cam knows how to win at this level and has an elite name as far as recruiting’s concerned… He’s a nice guy between old-school and new-school and it’s nice to have someone who can bridge that gap between the generations.”
One of the most decorated Boilermakers in school history, Miller’s two years in West Lafayette featured a bronze medal in the 200m at the 2025 NCAA Indoor Championships, three Big Ten titles in the 200m and a Big Ten title in the 4x400m indoors in 2025.
He remains Purdue’s 200m record holder, both outdoors (20.12) and indoors (20.27), and was part of the 4x400m record-setting team indoors (3:03.64). His indoor 200m and 300m (32.43) set a Big Ten records at the time prior to USC’s Garrett Kaaland breaking both during the 2026 season. Miller remains the 12th-fastest 300m runner in collegiate history.
“It feels great to come back,” said Cam Miller. “I would love to bring the championship and winning attitude I felt when I was here. Having those moments with my teammates and my coaches was always a beautiful thing, and I want to provide that now on the coaching side.”
Prior to joining Purdue, Miller had a successful season at Louisville where he was a four-time All-American, ACC Champion in the 200m indoors and four-time ACC medalist. He holds Louisville records indoors in the 200m, 300m and 4x400m and outdoor records in the 200m, 4x100m and 4x400m. Miller ran his best all-conditions time in the 200m, 19.93 (+2.9 m/s), as a Cardinal.
Miller’s career started with three seasons at Florida where he was the SEC silver medalist in the 200m during the 2022 indoor season. While in Gainesville, injuries held Miller to competing in just six meets.
